How Do I Dispute Information in My Report?

If you believe that any of the information in your background report is inaccurate or incomplete, you may initiate a dispute free of charge with CareerBuilder Employment Screening. The dispute process also known as the reinvestigation process, may take up to 30 days, depending on the nature, scope and source of the information being disputed; however, CareerBuilder Employment Screening strives to complete any reinvestigation of disputed information as soon as possible.

You may dispute your record in one of the following methods:

  1. Verbally by contacting CareerBuilder Employment Screening's Consumer Help Line  (844) 220-6741
  2. Via email (do not include personal identifiable information), other than full name and your contact telephone number
  3. In writing to: (Include your full name, your contact phone number and email address)

Upon receiving your dispute, CareerBuilder Employment Screening will promptly reinvestigate the specific information/records that you are disputing. CareerBuilder Employment Screening also has trained customer service representatives who can work with you if you need assistance identifying the specific information/records that you want to dispute.
